Another week, another great opportunity for a Wordless Wednesday link up hosted by Deb at Focused On The Magic. This weeks theme is Disney Side, and I thought for a while about what I wanted to focus on. My first thought was to focus on how I bring Disney into my daily New York City life, but the more I thought about that, the more I realized that might be a series of blog posts better saved for another time.
So, instead I’m going to focus on my Disney Cast Member Side. I participated in a College Program during the Fall of 2013, before returning to school that Spring and graduating. Here are some of my favorite memories from that time.
Housing events where super fun (or at least full of free food and rare characters).
Having all your friends living with in walking distance was a perk of the program I really miss now. Having house parties, dinners, and get together was a very common event.
There’s nothing quite as fun as getting to ride a roller coaster before (and after) work every day. I got good enough to know exactly where the cameras are.
Getting to explore the Orlando area was great as well, I snagged that Universal Annual Pass and put it to good use showing my family, and my girlfriend, Hogwarts.
I even made it out of Orlando and to Celebration one night with Friends to see the Florida ‘snow’!
One of the perks of being an Animal Kingdom cast member was a hosted Halloween Party after hours that included games, rides, and even a haunted queue for Kali River Rapids.
Getting to see my Thai, Indian, and Indonesian co-workers celebrate their traditions was both a learning experience, and a fun time.
Having the time to do meet and greets was a total CP pro. I never would’ve waited in line to meet Fiesta Donald on a short Disney Trip.
My roommate and I celebrated EPCOT’s 30th anniversary the way I spent most days at EPCOT: with margaritas and a smile.
One of the best nights of my entire time in Orlando was eating dinner at Be Our Guest. And also, drinking wine out of a glass I added my glow cube to.
Belle is my favorite Princess, and getting to participate in Enchanted Tales before it officially opened never got old.
I met Ariel in both her human and mermaid form during my CP, but the best part was meeting her with friends.
Though my karoke pose is not great, Buffalo Wild Wings will always have a place in my heart after many a karaoke night.
Although I look happy, this was the last reunion of me and my Jungle Trek co-workers on the last night of my program.
And, just a few highlights of the actual job itself:
Getting to wear this to work everyday was a bucket list item I was so happy to cross off my list.
Spending time on stage with friends was the best way to spend time on stage. The Costume… might not make my highlight reel.
Seeing this at the end of every shift wasn’t the worst way to clock out.
Well… I’m feeling super nostalgic now.
